Ju-Jitsu means ‘the gentle way’ or ‘the gentle art’.

Ju-Jitsu is a full contact martial art. Those who are prepared to work at it learn tricks of agility and endurance that few thought they could achieve before they started to train with us.
The first lessons start with the basics:
- defensive fighting stance
- falling safely
- some basic self defence techniques
- some simple locks
There is a LOT of throwing in our style of Ju-Jitsu so it's really important that people can fall and get back up with confidence.
The ethos behind Ju-Jitsu is using the power and weight of an aggressor against them. This can be a gentle manipulation or a full force blow or throw - whichever is most appropriate for the situation.
Ju-Jitsu does not rely on great body strength, instead our training teaches timing, flexibility, agility and knowledge of the body.
Combine and practice all of these and you have the ability to control a confrontational situation as much to prevent injury to the person who may be attacking you as to protect yourself.
