The First Training Session |

We prefer it if students contact us in advance before coming along and you are welcome to turn up to any of our training sessions either just to watch or take part in training. Please just let us know you're coming. Before training begins you will be asked to complete a membership application form - you will need to bring some form of ID along to complete this. You are not expected to join the club immediately but you will have to pay for each training session. For many people this will be the first time they have tried a martial art and they may want to try it out for a couple of weeks before paying to join. However, after a couple of weeks you will be expected to join if you wish to carry on training. Wear old clothes, a track suit or a gi (one of the white martial arts suits if you have access to one). Dont wear you favorite t-shirt - it may get damaged. We train bare foot. Articles of clothing which have sharp edges such as belts or items of jewelry must be removed. If jewelry can not be removed then it must be taped over with a plaster. We start every training session with some warm-up exercises. The secret here is to do as much as you are comfortable with. Dont strain yourself or exhaust yourself completely. We follow this with some breakfalling exercises which you will not be allowed to take part in - you must be taught how to breakfall first. Club membership costs £30.00 for the first year and £25.00 for subsequent years. Each training session costs £8.00. There are lower prices for concessions but these are only available to students who have paid their full membership and can show valid proof that they qualify for concession.
